The set-up: Furnished rooms in a shared house for rent by the month -- perfect for interns, academics, and other dewy-eyed pilgrims passing through our nation's fine capital.

The place: Nestled in the chichi suburban neighborhoods of Bethesda, Maryland, the Bradley House offers safe, comfy accommodations within walking distance of just about everything -- public transportation, shops, entertainment, and plenty of rich white people whose political views you might not agree with but most of whom are still very nice.

The people: A bunch of hand-picked housemates, each setting out to make the world a better place in their own special way. Scientists and artists, writers and computer geeks, non-profit policy wonks and even the occasional capitalist -- all have found a home in the Bradley House. We especially like articulate, funny, laid-back people who possess secret superpowers. That, or at least wash their dishes.

Lease Details: The Bradley house is set up for short-term housing. Ideally, we look for people staying somewhere between one and eight months. Shorter or longer stays will be considered on an individual basis. Rooms are typically rented by the calendar month. If you need to leave before the end of the calendar month you will be reimbursed for the extra days if a tenant can be found to take your place.
Note that we fill our rooms as they become available. We don't offer advanced room reservations like hotels do. If you're interested in renting one of our rooms for a date later than the available dates listed above, please check back a month or two before the date you'll be arriving to see if we have rooms open for your time frame.

Security Deposit: $250 which will be returned in full at the end of your stay.

Interested?
Then send an email to room@bradleyhouse.net. Please be sure and tell us a bit about yourself, including:
  1. What brings you to Washington? Where will you be working/studying?
  2. Which room are you interested in?
  3. When will you arrive and how long do you intend to stay?
  4. Have you lived in shared housing before?
  5. Are you at least 21 years old?
  6. Will you be bringing a car and will you be using it to commute to work?
(Don't forget to include your phone number, email address, and any documented superpowers.)

If you don't hear back from us right away, please be patient. We get a lot of responses but we generally don't start recruiting new guests until two months before a room is due to become vacant. Feel free to email us sooner than that. We'll definitely get back to you once we start going through the emails.

If for some reason we couldn't accommodate you, check out www.dchousing.net for other short term housing options.
